Ashlyn under the Bilirubin lights this morning....Jaundice is the least of her worries right now.
Tough wake up call from Dr Wolf this morning.....
He called our room around 7am and told us that Ashlyn had a rough night. She had accumulated new fluid around her lung, and showed a dramatic increase in oxygen demands. She is barely breathing on her own.
Sara and Dr Wolf looking at chest X-rays......
The Dr has decided to put in a chest tube into her right lung area and try to drain the fluid. Not ideal, but no real choice he says.
As he was preparing for the procedure, we decided it was just a little too much to watch and came back to the room. We both cracked and a good cry. Definetly still praying and calling in the good vibes....Going back down there in an hour.
Not sure what else to say but besides the obvious...This is hard.
